Collector’s Note

Aubergine Crest is a hand knotted wool rug woven in a palette of plum, gold, and soft stone tones. The design draws from the Heriz–Serapi tradition of northwestern Iran, where large geometric medallions and angular motifs form the core of the composition. Here, that classical structure is reinterpreted in a contemporary color scheme, giving the rug a grounded yet modern character.

Crafted using traditional weaving techniques, the rug features a dense wool pile and clearly articulated motifs despite the softened, textured finish. The border includes stylized floral elements typical of the region’s workshop designs, blending geometric and botanical forms in a balanced frame.

This piece works well in living rooms, dining spaces, or layered interiors that benefit from a strong geometric anchor. Its warm palette pairs easily with wood, leather, and neutral upholstery, adding depth and visual interest without overwhelming the room.
