Blue Veil

Collector’s Note

Blue Veil is a hand knotted wool runner woven in a soft palette of pale blue and cream. Crafted using traditional Oushak weaving techniques, the runner features loosely spun wool and an open knot structure that give it a light, pliable handle. A gentle wash applied after weaving softens the outlines of the motifs, creating the diffused, luminous look characteristic of contemporary Oushak pieces.

The design reflects the Oushak floral tradition, with stylized palmettes and branching vines arranged along a central axis. This layout, common across Western Anatolia, favors open spacing and tonal harmony rather than strict symmetry, resulting in a composition that feels calm and inviting.

Suited for bright, airy interiors, this runner pairs well with pale woods, stone floors, and neutral textiles. Its cool palette helps lift a hallway, kitchen, or bedside setting, bringing a sense of light without overwhelming the space.
